Maybe changing version to 2.5 would be the way to avoid confusion.

We are trying to move to the new beta Plugin Installer system, and I have not been updating K on these changes because everything is still beta! But thanks for your noticing this.

Re: Watchdog Plugin

I used Watchdog with OpenCPN 4.8. I update OpenCPN to 5.0. I & updated Watchdog to 2.4.
It shows up on toolbar but when I click on it the icon color changes but Watchdog window does not appear. I uninstalled and install the plugin several times but still the same. I see in the log that:
***GPS Watchdog timeout at Lat:30.4866 Lon: -116.101 (I am not at the boat and have no GPS connected)
Thank you in advance

You do not give any information about what OS and what version of WD.
You may recall that when first starting watchdog, all that shows is a small blank menu, that you must right click on to add the first alarm. This menu may be hidden behind Opencpn, so minimize Opencpn and check for the menu please.

See below, also reading the watchdog manual is highly recommended. This tool is quite deep and interacts with other plugins such as Ocpn draw to provide some significant features.

WD v2.4.12 for Windows and Ubuntu 18.04 work in the latest beta version of Opencpn

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Here is my system information:
Windows 10 Pro latest version
on MS Surface Pro pen-tablet with 16GB RAM- Intel Core i7- 2.81GHZ
64 bit OS

You are right the first time I installed the update and WD the small window showed but not correctly. Since then I uninstall and installed the program and all plugins and changed resolution from 3000*2000 to 1920*1080.
I followed your instruction and there is no other WD window.
I appreciate your assistance

Re: Watchdog Plugin

When I click on the WatchDog icon the icon color does not change but the blank menu appears, but this is using o beta and wd 2.4.12. I know the earlier version works in Windows Opencpn v5.0. There should not be a question.

Please uninstall the plugin, download a completely new Opencpn v5.0 Watchdog version 2..4.0 file here and install it normally.
https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/plugins/watchdog.html

To make sure you have removed your old version of watchdog, remove watchdog.dll from C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenCPN [5.0]\plugins after you have used the uninstall-watchdog exe

Re: Watchdog Plugin

I followed your instruction and received no error message in the process.
But the program behaves the same (Icon looks like it is pressed but nothing happens).

Thanks

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Background: I used this pen tablet with 4.8 version and WD for two years in Mexico flawlessly.
I used WD a lot as I mostly sail alone. I also have other issues with the new upgrade 5.0

Thanks

Barry

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Version 5 has been out for quite awhile (1 year).
Your plugins seem to be loading and unloading normally and yourr ini file looks normal too.

Please attachsome screenshots with Watchdog loaded and enabled, and Icon clicked on with Opencpn miminized and also maximized. The sc shot1 and 2 did not work. With image files you do not need to rename. See the FAQ about uploading screenshoots. Thanks.

It seems to work for me under windows 10, opencpn 5 so I really don't know what the problem is.

Re: Watchdog Plugin

Please see attached files. I have about to months to sort this out before going back to my boat.

Should I remove OpenCPN completely and have a fresh install?
How complicated is it to roll back to 4.8?

I appreciate your help.

Thank you.

Re: Watchdog Plugin

It just so happens I have a Surface3Pro with Opencpn v 5 and Watchdog

Here it is running, so it does work on a Surface Pro too. Do what you need to do.
