Waypoints and Marks

What format are they and where are they stored? I would like a go at adding a few of my own. As well any body know where the own ship Icons are stored and what format. I'm not a programmer so coding isn't possible, but if they are like PNG, ICO, or BMP files I should be able to fool around a bit. Thanks!

Waypoints/routes & tracks can be saved anywhere on the file system i GPX format. Checkout OpenCPN Manual | Official OpenCPN Homepage for more information. Waypoints not saved this way, are saved in the ini or config file between sessions in plain ascii format-

I'm sorry you misunderstood me. I want to edit the icons for things like marinas, wrecks, and the like.
