I would first turn off all external plugins that you are not using.
Weather_routing is having trouble creating several new directories for polars and boat files. These are important to the operation of the plugin.
You could try, Uninstall weather_routing using the uninstallweather_routing.exe in C:\Program Files (x86)\[OpenCPN] which ever version you are using, should be v5.0 stable.
Then try to reinstall weather routing and check your log file again.

Before doing the steps above, see if the directories exist or not.


At the end of the log it appears that new texture files are being created.
Perhaps try turning off texture caching.


It looks like opengl is on and so is Texture compression and caching. Try turning those of to start with, see if that works. Then turn on opengl and see how that works. Then try texture compression.

Did not work.
Disinstalled making certain the directory had also been deleted
Reinstalled the new release of WR
played with cache and texture compression etc etc

same issue of WR Plot faltering and glittering

you press ok then it downloads the data from the web.

I don t think a screenshot would be of any use since it is glittering and fading. Turned on and off Opengl to no avail.

Maybe different video drivers or disabling opengl helps?

Could you try compiling the plugin from git, it should have different rendering. Maybe an older version of the plugin works??

On my Win 10 computer, I see some flickering in the graph area of the Weather Routing Plot window as the lines of data and text are continually redrawn.

I just made two screen shots of the Plot window. This shot shows the lines of data that have just been drawn. The text and grid have not been drawn.



This shot shows the same window with data lines, text and grid.



The flicker on my computer screen is barely noticeable, but I can see it. Perhaps the loop that draws and refreshes the graph could draw the graph, and then not redraw it until the cursor is detected to have moved to a new x or y coordinate.

Sean,

I see that moving the cursor over the graph area only changes the values reported in the lower part of the Weather Route Plot window. The graph in the upper part of the window only needs to be redrawn if the "Position" or "Scale" slider is moved. So, after the graph is first drawn, it should not need a redraw until one of the sliders is changed.

I just observed that the WR Plot may be viewed while the route is being computed. This makes a redraws required while the route is being computed.
