Same here on a laptop with Kubuntu 21.10 64bit. O, climatology and Weatherouting compiled from scratch/github

I am removing climatology and weather_routing from PIM until the problem is resolved.
I found windows has the same problem, and WR also causes O to fail when just using gribs.
I would remove gribs too, but it is an internal plugin.

OS Windows10, OpenCPN 5.5.1114 Weather_routing 1.13.34.0 Grib 4.1 all plugins from PIM. These work acceptably provided Climatology is "Disabled". Climatology 1.4.35.0 does not work with WR.

Please add your findings for other OS.

Note that to use the time based grib files, you must set the start date and time properly, to the beginning of the grib file, otherwise your effort will fail.

Weather Routing works with Grib files only right now. Climatology must be "disabled".
Weather Routing has been added back to PIM, Climatology is not available on PIM right now as it needs repair.

After some testing, WR 1.13.34.0 works with Climatology 1.4.26.0 but not with 1.4.28.0 or versions following.
For the time being download the tarball for your OS here on Cloudsmith Opencpn Climatology-prod until we can bisect what happened.

We are not in competition with Maxsea Timezero, but a recent sales email listed features following this OpenCPN plugin's features, albeit with a more user friendly interface. So you have a choice, use and contribute to OpenCPN or pay for MaxSea. We like the Opensource choice here, perhaps someone kind programmer will help improve our interface.

Regarding ease of use, I have to say that I found Gribsail WR under Android hard to beat when it comes to weather routing.

Might be worth looking into as well if you plan to improve the user experience.

Apart from that I still love OpenCPN and it's fabulous development of Core & Plug-in.

Yes, I have Gribsail on my android and like the simple menus on a cell phone. It is remarkably quick to download a grib and run a routing.
