Re: Weather Routing

Yeah, I just dragged and dropped something in there.

Also in your SS your climatology has a lot of options, mine only has the first three... What's with that?

Re: Weather Routing

You have climatology working? Just check "Wind". Just use Climatoolgy and uncheck "grib" in wxrouting and also uncheck "detect land".

I do not know what it is, but it is something small.

I do have climatology working. I clicked only wind, and I tried it with no land and no grib unchecked. it crashes.

It is the right directory, but the file "boat.xml" does not excist.

In my climatology, i only have Wind, Current, Cyclones. Which files do you have that I dont have.

Re: Weather Routing

Ok I think we need a Boat.xml, but I am not sure about that.
Try Configuration > Plot Details > Plot type "Boat" Then try "Save As"
you will be prompted for a name and the program data directory will be where it is stored.

Then try it.

Re: Weather Routing

configuration > edit > under Boat use Edit > Then "Save As".

If it lists under "State" the word "Fail" - This often happens when the grib is too short a time period to allow the boat to reach destination, however it does write isochrones and routing up until the grib runs out. --Did it do that?

I am running out of ideas. I think you should try qtVLM and learn more about routing, then come back to this. Sorry.

Re: Weather Routing

No Worries. I'm sure its a Privilege problem with my files. This is a new computer and asks for permission alot of time I move a file.

When I click edit, under configuration we already discussed, that it crashes....

Thanks for your attempts to rectify the situation though.

Re: Weather Routing

Attached is the Git Diff file, for the changes needed to fix the illegal external file references to Opencpn program files. Mike and ChuckSK helped tremendously to get this plugin fixed. Thank you.

I am hoping to be able to use github and a fork to send a pull request to Sean,
but this records the changes made.

I will be leaving to deliver a boat to FL and may not get to this task before then.

I have found that wxrouting needs to have a boat.xml file or it fsils. You can try o saving one which will hopefully work. I will uplaod a boat.xml file when I get back.
