weird colors especially for vector charts

Been away from my boat for a few months. OpenCPN was working great.

I'm back and something has changed on my laptop affecting OpenCPN colors, so I can't even find elements of the program. I have video accelerator off, but that setting doesn't affect this issue. This problem is especially bad in Vector charts, see attached. I can't find the dashboards, whether on top of a vector or raster chart, but I know they are there, as they blink briefly when I enable or disable them.

Tried running in Win8 compatibility mode. No effect on issue.

It has been months since I last used OpenCPN and had it working, with lots of Windows 10 updates including May 2020 feature update.

Thanks in advance for suggestions on how to trouble shoot this.

Re: weird colors especially for vector charts

This is the night navigation mode. There are a couple of threads running about OpenCPN changing to night mode by itself.

I was going to grab a manual reference, but when I went and looked this section of the manual seems out of date. I am using version 5 (and I think 4.8 was the same).

If you can get to the menu (the standard menu at the top) it is under View, near the bottom, Change Color Scheme. If you can't access that the default keystroke is "C", there are four modes, so just hit the "C" key and wait for it to stabilize, then again until you get to the normal day color.

Here's the manual, but I haven't used all those various options, I just use the "C" key.
