Wifi to GPS L1/L2/L5, AIS, NMEA and Relays

Hello, I am new here! Just hope to get some feedback on a hardware idea that I have

I am looking to develop a hardware to use with tablets and OpenCPN

Basically it would be a Wifi & Bluetooth gateway with

1. AIS receiver (possibly transmitter as well)

2. Integrated Sub 1 meter GPS with L1/L2/L5. There is a bunch of chips on itīs way out at gives you much better accuracy.

3. Can-bus and NMEA input to transmit motor data to tablet. Best thing would of cause if you can read direct from the big motor manufactures so that you do not need any NMEA adapter from them.

4. Could possibly also be with LTE-M that have 4-5 better coverage than LTE (WorldWideRoming but only small data amounts to send position and some other small messages).

5. The device could also have 5-10 relays to control pumps, lights and or anything else that you would like to turn on and off.

6. Finally a small LiPo battery for backup if man power fails. If you have 2 of this and 2 tablets you have full redundancy.

What do you think? Would this make sense?

Thanks,

David
