Working from the same Navobj.xml file??

I work in an office setting, and I'm the one that keeps our Open CPN updated with new waypoints. Is there a way my co-workers and I can all work from the same file, so they can automatically see my updated waypoints? From looking at the manual, I think that the sessions, and thus any new info I add, gets saved to the navobj.xml files. Would it be this file or the .ini file... and, again, could we all work from the same if I'd put the working file in a common shared folder? I hope I explained this correctly!

Thanks!

Christiane

It is navobj.xml, the .ini file is irrelevant. You can't use the same file from multiple OpenCPN instances running simultaneously, the only way is to synchronize it between the various instances while OpenCPN is not running.

Thanks for the reply. This is helpful! How would I go about synchronizing it? It's rare that more than one person would have OpenCPN open at once. Thanks

I would myself start OpenCPN with a script and rsync it from a master location when invoking it, but it really depends on what exactly your workflow is and what platform you are using.

Use a script or batch file.
