Yucatan Chart

The only chart I see that covers norther Yucatan is the NOAA Gulf of Mexico but that one doesn't offer detail for Isla Mujeras. Where will I find a chart for that area? -mike t

Re: Yucatan Chart

Not for OpenCPN, but Navionics covers the Yucatan.

Your only choice for an up to date chart is to buy a s-63 user permit from o-charts - Vector Charts for OpenCPN and then buy a chart from for example Chartworld .

You can also try to get hold of CM93 v2 from 2012. Heaps of info available if you search this forum.

Be aware that some charts just south of Isla Mujeres are very bad. Check for accuracy with GE or SAS Planet.

Re: Yucatan Chart

Having used the Navionics in the Yucatan...it is not very accurate.

In Puerto Morelos the chart showed me in the Catholic Church's car par when I was 200 yds from the shore. Chart is accurate they just put Mexico in the wrong place!
