Hi All,

I have ordered a Mahe 36 for delivery here in Australia.
The hard bimini is an issue for me too.
I am tall (6 foot 5 inches) and I have a concern on that front.
My impression is that the superstructure is tall in comparison to the length of the boat and that the hard line might be necessary to extend the superstructure.

Getting photos seems to be hard does anyone have a photo of the boat with a bimini?

Thanks for your comments so far.

I have now got some photos of the factory bimini which I can email to anyone who wants a look. My email is daniel@masseybailey.com.au

We have now decided to get a bimini made here in Australia.

We have also decided to go for at least one (hopefully two) additional winches. If you look at the layout there are only two winches (other than the main halyard on the mast). Both are right in front of the steering position.

My feeling is that if the proverbial hits the rotating then that space could get very crowded. In addition we will need a further winch for the screecher.

We have gone for a winch in the cockpit on the port side and the factory is investigating a coach house top winch port side as well.

Part of my issue is that I do not trust jammers to work when you really need them to .

Could you post the photo on this web site? I'm sure all would like to see.

Thanks

Hi Mark
I just talk to Bob at willmar today,it seems that our boat will get here sometime in December.....I got their Electronic package,I want to keep it simple, and also trying the coast down, you know what I mean. The bimini is another story,if I don't like what I see,I will just wait, start using the boat and go from there.the generator and AC will be installed here,I am also considering solar panels.I guess we will have to trust them untill the boat gets here. When are you expecting your's? JC.

Hi, JC and everybody else,
I order the 2 cabin version of the Cat. I figured it is good to have an extra head in case we have guests. I ordered the electric winch, the electronic package, and the genaker. The solar panels, wind generator, and radar chart platter are on my “must get list.” I am getting the boat in July or August 2007, and I will be sailing it for about two months in the Med. The boat will be delivered after the hurricane season, either to Florida or to the Virgin Islands. JC I am so happy and exited for you that you are getting yours in a couple of months.

Mark,

How have you got the factory to do your winches? You will need at least one more for the genaker.

Does anyone else find both genoa sheets going to the same winch a little strange or is that just the racer in me?

I can send you a picture of one of the first Mahe 36's that has the bimini and an additional winch port side in the cockpit.

I will try to post them to the site, wish me luck.

Just for the record, thank you to those of you who have new boats on order, for sharing your experiences as you go through the process.

I find it fun and interesting to observe the process and to live vicariously (& enviously) through you.

Please keep the info coming!!!

Well, went to the boat show and couldn't resist, put my money down on a three cabin Mahe 36.

Delivery sometime in the far too distant future (Sept 07).

Time to bump this up the Board.

Does anyone have any further updates or observations.

Has anyone seen the little beauty in the flesh.

I am looking for a volunteer to whom I can send the email I have with photos and who can then post them ( I am definitely a dunce ).

My order now includes two additional winches.

One on the port cabin top and one portside in the cockpit.

I feel much safer with this configuration if the proverbial hits the fan. The present two winch configuration with them both on the starboard side just in front of the helm seems way too crowded to me. i doubt you could wind both winches at the one time if there was a need to do so.

WE have an update on our Mahe 36.

It is hull # 29 and it is programmed to be out of the factory on 13 March 2007 with delivery to Sydney (Australia) early May 2007.

Our "broker" will be at the factory next week so I will post any updates.

How is everyone's deliveries going?
