Change of propellers

Hello
I ask if anybody knows which kind of propellers are correct for a V42 with original Yanmar 29hp engine.
I don't know neither the diameter of the axes of the saildrive...
Thanks for any help/docs/tech considerations...

Re: Change of propellers

Depends on a few factors, fixed or folding and the gear ratio on the transmission. If you contact flexofold, they can walk you through correct sizing. Valiant 42?

Re: Change of propellers

The cat ia Venice 42 1993 of FP
The engines are original and also the props (2 fixed blades).

I would like to change with 2 folding props (Volvo) that I have just find used (they came from a Orana with volvo penta 30hp).

Are they suitable?

Sounds to me like they should work.

Re: Change of propellers

I come back with some news:
it is not possible to install flexOfold props in FP Venezia 42, due to the fact there is not enough space between the sail drive shaft and the rudders!!

The only installable props are the feathering props
I have so just installed 2 kiwi props (16.5"x23°)
The performance of the engine are acceptable, in any way better than with the 2 original fixed props, but I am expected more push from the kiwis. May be the step of the props must be finished...

Re: Change of propellers

After one year I have tuned the pitch of the 2 kiwi prop to 22°
This let me have really better performance than with a 23° pitch
Max rpm reached is now 3100 (before only 2600) and max speed is about 7,5/7,6 knots (before less than 6.7 knots)
Very happy and in the future may be I reduce the pitch to 21,5° (in order to achive at least 3300 rpm - max rpm for my 2 engines 3GM30F is 3600 rpm).
