Re: In General

Hello, I am addressing the owners of Belize. I am planning to buy this Belize https://ru.yachtworld.com/yachts-ru/...ze-43-3530437/ and I have several questions:
1.I am 196 cm tall and will I be comfortable in this yacht? I was on bahia 46 and felt quite comfortable there. I am especially interested in the galley and the shower area.
2. Is it easy to access the engines for service work?
3. Is it possible to wire all the sail control lines to the helm like on modern catamarans? has anyone done that? How else can you simplify the controls for singlehandled?
4. What is the maximum chain length allowed for a standard anchor box?
5 What is the best place for 1000-12000W solar panels? Does anyone have this experience?
Any pro and contro between beliz and lipari)

1. I am 6' and only occasionally hit my head. 6'5" will be pushing it. Much depends on the bimini which is not standard. Inside, you will definitely hit your head in the galley when leaning over the stove. Head/shower probably OK.
2. As good as on any boat. At least it is not under the berth like the Lagoons of that era.
3. Yes, I have done that. PM me if you want a pic. Also added electric winch which I recommend.
4. Room for way more than you need. I have 400' with no problem. Weight is really your concern.
5. I have 800W mounted on top of the bimini (8 x 100W). With newer panels (mine are 2008) I'm sure you could get higher rating in same space.
FWIW, we bought our Belize43 new, chartered her for 5 years, lived aboard for 2 years, and then cruised extensively in the Western Caribbean until recently. She is now for sale. PM me if interested. (She is in Panama.)

To dmtparkerLcsk53
Thank you very much for your reply!
if possible, send a photo or a diagram of the placement of winches, stoppers and blocks. which winch is better to do electric, and a photo or diagram of the installation of solar panels.

Re: In General

Here are some pics that may help. The electric winch (rather obviously) is the one that all the lines are lead to. The jib sheet remains on the manual winch. Lines are mainsheet, reef 1 (2 lines), reef 2 (2 lines), main halyard, topping lift.

Re: In General

Thanks for answer! Does your mainsail only have 2 reefs? the ropes at the exit from the blocks are strongly bent in the photo, do they rub?

Sorry for the confusion. The winch is directly behind the clutches so no binding. What you are seeing is the lines led over the cockpit to a line bag. This pic shows it better.
And, yes, only 2 reef points. 2 lines for each.

Re: In General

Has anybody changed either of the two nylon sheaves on the mast top of their Belize 43? Our main halyard uplift pulley has shattered and I need to replace it. The topping lift and main halyard pulleys are on the same stainless shaft which appears to be an interference fit into two holes, one on either side of the crane (mast head assembly). Does anyone know if this is an interference fit and if so would I be able to drift it out with a hammer. I don't want to start hitting it if it's not likely to move. Any advise welcome.

Re: In General

Here are some more pics from the rigging. I laid everything out with tape first to be sure everything was fair.

Re: In General

Re: In General

The motor hangs down over the stairs down to berths. I made a plywood cover for it, but I have since then sold the boat so I cannot get you a pic
