Question Installing holding tanks

Our 2007 Lavezzi 40 lacks holding tanks. Fixing this will be the first phase of our refit. FP has retrofit kits in stock and I am about to pull the trigger on ordering them. Has anyone installed or serviced these tanks on a Lavezzi 40?

It is my understanding that the tanks are located within the bulkhead aft of and above each head. A quick look does not reveal any way to remove the liner in the bathroom or in the clothes closet on the other side of the bulkhead. Will I have to cut the molded liner and create a removable panel, or am I missing something?

Re: Installing holding tanks

They mount directly to the wall above the head and then have a cover that goes over them.

Thanks Jay.

And to think that I just told my wife, "Of course they do not mount on the surface of the bulkhead, that would be gross..."

How finished does it look?

Re: Installing holding tanks

They originally had fiberglass covers that go over them. If Fountaine still has them available. If they don't you could make a cover out of white 1/4" PVC board this is what they do in the Lipari.

Re: Installing holding tanks

on the Orana they are just boards that hook over the top of the tank and have a bungee cord to "attach them to the tank at the bottom. It is quite neat really and gives you easy access to work on the hoses or tank.
