Some have changed to 1-1 if you have electric winch and it seems to work but standard 2-1. We have just fitted a Karver gaff lock still 2-1 but makes it easy with the square head main

Re: New FP Lipari 41

Thanks guys....we are in the midst of buying a used Lipari...it does have an electric Harken 44 for the mainsail and the Karver gaff lock is something we have looked at, but now another question, where are the 2 water tanks? 4 of us have search everywhere and all agree they must be stb side fwd but have difficulty seeing them...are they plumbed as one as this boat only has one fill and one guage....thanks again guys

There are 2 tanks - 1 port side behind the bookcase in forrard cabin. Other is starboard in same position and is hard to get at. The fill goes into starboard tank and the tanks are connected with a pipe running under the saloon seats so both fill together. There is a cock on both tanks - starboard to left and below the water pressure pump and the port is behind a panel just to right of nav station at the bottom below the small shelf. The water gauge is connected to port tank. I and many others have split the tanks by separating the take off from the port tank and adding another deck fill point. In my case I added another pressure pump to feed a separate filtered point at galley sink and can either relink the tanks or keep them separate via stop cocks. Still haven't worked out how to add an extra gauge on starboard tank.

Karver gaff lock can be done cheaply with a bit of Dyneema.

Good luck - I still reckon the Lipari is a great boat and very happy with ours 6 years later.

Twt has it right on the tanks. We fitted the Gaff lock and do love the way it works but there is a little bit of work to get it to work right. Not cheap but nice bit of kit. If you want a video or instructions on how to fit one let me know and I can send you the info

Re: New FP Lipari 41

You guys are great...we have an accepted offer on one in Florida that is getting ready to get the new VP engines and once that is done we will going to survey....

Some one just sent me this link, and if you were happy with your boat before you will be even more so after watching this...albeit sad for a lot of folks...

Any Lipari owners needed to replace your sacrificial keels? Did you buy new or have them fabricated? Cost? Please share your experience
