Orana 44: Orana 44 headroom

I'm going to buy a catamaran around 3 months from now. One of my major challanges is that I'm tall 6'6" (199cm). To be able to be comfortable I need to have standing headroom at least in the galley and in the cockpit. Decent headroom in the hulls is nice but by far not as important.

I narrowed down my shortlist of boats to the Orana, Lagoon 400, and 420. I'm living in Sweden and there are very few catamarans here but I've been on the two Lagoons and they work fine for me, especially the 400.

Browsing the web it often state that the Orana has 6'9" headroom and that would work just fine. Are there eny Orana owners or people that could confirm this.

I am nearly 6 foot 5" and I reckon the headroom is great in both galley and cockpit. I can easily walk around in the hulls as well.
Where are you? You can have a look at ours if you are in Sydney.

OOOps, a bit far from Sweden to Sydney !!! Mind you the holiday would be good in your winter .

Thanks DtM for your answer. Australia is nice, but perhaps just a tad too far to check the headroom.

I'm actually 6'6.5", so maybe nearly 2" taller than you, but it sounds as it should be OK.

Saloon and cockpit no problems, but I am 6"2" and continually knock my head in the entrance to main bedroom and head. Just something to get used to.

Being my hight, I learned the painful way when I was young that I need to watch my head so I never hit anything even if its low.

So you think thats even if I'm 4-5' taller than you, I'll be OK in the galley and cockpit.

I once did a 10 weeks cruise on a trawler where I barely couldn't stand straight anywhere, and I did develop a back pain in the end, and I never have any backproblems despite my hight.
