Rear window replacement Lavezzi

Hi all,

Has anone replaced their rear fixed window?
Mine has been crazed ever since I bought the boat 8 years ago so there must be a lot of FPs with this issue, hence putting it in the general section.
I have tried driving a knife into the seal but it is very tough. I'm guessing it's a poly sulphide sealant so I don't think I dissolve it with anything safe.
I've thought of cutting the window up to remove it but I want to use the old one as a template to make the new window.
I'm thinking of trying to get a hacksaw blade in between the window and the cabin and cutting it out that way.
Any advice please?

I replaced the windows on a Maldives and found a bread knife to be the best.
The small teeth on a hacksaw Blade kept gunging up

Never cut up the old window until you are positive you won't need it anymore. Uh, voice of experience here..

Glued windows are easily removed on our boats with the tools used by garages to replace windshields.
It is a thin steel cable with two sturdy handles. Simply insert the cable through the glue joint and pull it across the glue joint with both handles on either sides of the window ...and saw through the gue jointit.

With this tool and one person helping I removed the 3' by 9' , curved front window of my PRIVILEGE 435 catamaran in one hour, without dammaging the fiberglass. And the glue joints were 2' wide !
You will find many YOUTUBES showing this feat.
