Re: Sail Drives and Props

I am going to buy two new engines for my Mahe, upgrading from D1-20 to D1-30, the Volvo Penta store say that I must change props also. Is this a must? I have VP 3-blade folding props now. But I dont know which size og pitch.

So does anybody know what size original props on d1-20 is? And what is original for d1-30?
And what is the gear ratio for the saildrive on d1-30?

Re: Sail Drives and Props

I now have a Lucia and the details from my boat are:
Engine units: 2
Engine Model: Volvo DI-30
Max single engine power: 28 hp
Max engine regime: 3000 rpm
Gear box ratio in forward: 2.19:1

Max Boat speed (Volvo Folding) is just over 8 Kt, engines at 3000RPM

The Mahe may be able to utilise a different pitch as it is a lot lighter than the Lucia. Personally I was quite happy with 20Hp on the Mahe.

I much prefer feathering props and have bought some to replace the Volvo ones. The sizing for the 30HP on the Lucia is 17" "Diameter with 13 Pitch, 3 blade. I don't know what the Volvo folding prop specs are.

Cheers
