Microwave oven

Helia 44 Owners,

We installed a Panasonic Microwave - 1.2 cu. ft. 1200 watt, SS, Model: NN-SN686S
12.25 H x 20.7 W x 15.8 deep
Cost $136 from CompSource

Helia 44 Evo microwave opening size is.
12-1/2 high x 21-1/4 wide x 15 deep

The lower face board is glued in, so it has to be cut out to remove it.
Lower face board was cut to 1-5/8” tall.

Re: Stove, Grill & Propane

Has anyone replaced their ENO oven in the Helia? I would love to have an oven on which I can set the temperature....

Re: Stove, Grill & Propane

I looked into it once. We wanted temp control and a broiler. But (if memory serves) most of the other brands are quite a bit larger and I did not think they would fit in the space without significant cabinet modifications. Eno makes a model with a broiler and temp gauge (see Budget Marine) that has the same dimensions, but you lose an awful lot of interior baking space (and its already pretty small). So we learned to live with it and monitor with a temp gauge and flashlight to see it.

Re: Stove, Grill & Propane

Has anyone ever moved the oven to the lower position? My wife is pretty short, and with the oven in the top location, along with the door opening downwards, it seems like an accident/burn waiting to happen.

To me it would make more sense to have a microwave in the top position, but not sure if you can (I don't know about oven venting, etc.).

Re: Stove, Grill & Propane

We're looking at the same installation location for our fish cleaning table (30" wide). I would've preferred to move the grill inboard and install the table outboard nearer the freshwater hose and port transom but our sun shade already has a cutout for the grill in the location.

Re: Stove, Grill & Propane

I worry a bit about getting blood and fish parts in the dinghy. We plan on making dinghy chaos in the near future that would be potentially impacted by fish parts.

We have two 20lb tanks in our propane locker, one for the grill and the other for the galley oven & stove. We keep a 3rd spare in the anchor locker.

If my interpretation of these photos is correct, I'd be concerned as would any insurance company that read my survey report.

We have solenoid switches for each of the two tanks.
