Swimming ladder

For some reason which is totally beyond me the swim ladder on my Orana is straight up and down as compared to the Helia 44 which has a 90 degree bend on the rotating part so it extends out from the transom. This is not workable on the Orana.

Does anybody know where I can procure a swim ladder like those on the Helia 44. I have tried all of the normal marine outlets.

Re: Swimming ladder

last year or the one before southern stainless (gold coast ,same people that make the gas BBq,Cookout) were making them,if not try having yours modified by the shop up at kawana marina, they will do a very good job.

The ladder in the left picture will not work on the boat in the right picture. The ladder would end up on a 45 degree angle under the hull.

Helia 44 Swimming ladder

Helia 44 owners,

If you are seeing stainless steel rusty brown stains by your swim ladder you may want to drill a few holes in the down tubes to release the trapped salt water.

Every time you raise your ladder it traps a large amount of salt water in the tubes.

Note: For any Helia 44's that will be in freezing conditions for the winter you will not want this water to freeze inside the pipe and damage your ladder.
