Water heater failures

Hi All: We have a Helia 44 which is living in the Northern Bahamas for the most part in charter.
Appears that many boats of the 2016/17 ++ have experienced failures of the water heaters. Some multiple time. They are Indel Webasto.
Anybody else with the same failure?
Would also be interested if you received warranty service, parts & labor etc.
Other than that we love the boat.
Veit

Our 2017 Lucia has had it water heater fail this winter - it’s an IsoTemp brand and Indel Webasto is the Mfgr in Italy. We sent a single pic of the product label , serial no and water dripping behind it. They immediately agreed to replace it - and last I heard it was being dispatched. I’ll have CBP replace it for me at my cost in Canet en Roussillon over next week or so. Indel Webasto said ours was mfgd Aug 2016.

Re: Water heater failures

The IsoTemp water heater on our Lipari hasn't completely failed, but it has developed a leak where the cold water input pipe is welded to the heater tank. Ultimately it water logged the insulation material between the tank and outer jacket and then drips into the bilge. I hear our fresh water pump kick on for about a second or so, every couple of hours. I looked into having it replaced under warranty, but the agent in Florida was insisting that I remove the tank and ship it back to them for a pressure test. It is just not that big of a deal to me, so I'll keep it until I decide to replace it, preferably with a better, higher quality brand.
