Wetted Surface Area

I've got to order bottom paint for my new (to me) Bahia 46. With all the billions of bits of info on the internet you'd think someone would have worked out the wetted surface area of a Bahia and posted it!! Roughish estimate is fine as my Bahia is half a world away and all I've got is a photo of me standing next to her to judge the measurements...cheers

Re: Wetted Surface Area

Actually I'm barrier coating first so I'd rather know ft2 or m2! Cheers

Re: Wetted Surface Area

It displaces about 9500kg - you could get a rough estimate by using a conversion to volume (ie. 1ltr =1.027kg) and then do some geometry... How accurate do you need to be?

Re: Wetted Surface Area

On our 44' Orana we use 4ltrs of Altec #5 per hull per coat. That included extra coverage on leading edges and waterline.Hope that is of some help.
Gordon.

Re: Wetted Surface Area

I believe we ordered 8 cans of bottom paint and I had to add 2 more so a total of 10 cans, painted with a roller

Two coats and not being stingy, also it was micron 66

:-) I will have to look at the bills tomorrow but I am certain that it was this amount .

I hope it helps.
