What Is Behind The Wall Cladding ??

On the Lavezzi I want to add some shelves and/or make it possible to hang
wet gear -in the passage between the cabins- yes, opposite the toilet(s) ??
This wall cladding is probably made of some hard foam covered with vinyl,
kept down and up by this aluminium strip !!
Anybody know what is behind there to maybe attach something to, or
does anybody know how to take this strip off so I can have a look !
Thanks again

In the same categorie I could ask if anybody has ever opened the highered floor
under the table, it is doubled with the hull, no? so we could lower a barrel or box in
that space and gain the space 4 / 5 inches??
Just asking

All there is behind the cladding is a void and then the inside of the hull . You would need to Glass some brackets to the hull to accommodate what you wish to do
Cheers

So you have been there?
How big is the void, in depht, to be able to glass some reinforcements
and not have to alter the cladding ??
And did you manage to take of that aluninium rail?
If yes how,
Thanks

Re: What Is Behind The Wall Cladding ??

Have the same issue here. Want to take off the wall cladding. Halfway up there is an aluminium rail, on both hulls. To re-attach the midship cleat I will have to take off the top cladding. How to proceed? Must I remove the aluminium rail? Or just push the cladding up?

Thanks!

Re: What Is Behind The Wall Cladding ??

To all cladding removers. I managed tp get the upper part of the cladding out using clothpins. Just push them in on the aluminium rail, one after another, and finally you will squeeze have the rail loose. The rail is screwed to little wooden pads glued to the hull. does not take much effort to get them out. Then, using clothpins again, you just start to squeeze the cladding up until it pops out of the aluminium rail. Start pulling until it has come loose. Then, squeeze it down, take it out, and hide in a safe place. There is nothing on the upper side to keep it in place - it is pushed against the lintel with (again) pieces of wood.
You will see that you can (just) reach the putting irons and the middle cleat. I removed the cladding to re-attach those.
There is not much room between cladding and hull. There is no insulation either.
