Hi everyone,

We are parting with our 1978 Kent Ranger Sailboat in favor of a larger boat. She's for sale in San Diego and a great pocket cruiser. Here is some info:

Kent ranger sailboats were built tough in Kent, Washington and designed as pocket cruisers. Kent Ranger 26's are traditional appearing boats that can easily be single-handed and trailered, yet have all the features of much larger boats.

La Dolce Vita is in very nice condition!

The Kent Ranger 26 closely resembles a Flicka, though it is a larger boat with much more room below deck. We often get comments about her from people who believe her to be made by Pacific Seacraft. In fact, this boat was designed by Raymond H. Richards and is unique in that she has a ballasted keel with a centerboard and an inboard diesel engine.

La Dolce Vita is powered by a newly rebuilt Yanmar 1GM10 inboard diesel with a new fresh water/raw-water cooling system completed in 2009. The engine is in excellent condition, is spotless, and powers the boat at hull speed. The engine is clean and has zero smoke.

Down below, there is standing 6’ 2” headroom, an enclosed head immediately to port, a full galley to starboard and a settee forward that seats 4-5. This easily converts to sleep two, making a large and comfortable queen size berth. Two ample sea berths are to port and starboard of the companionway ladder.

Why are we selling this wonderful and rare Kent Ranger? A desire to move up to a bigger boat for coastal and offshore cruising in California waters.

We are selling our wonderful Kent Ranger 26 that has many recent upgrades.

ENGINE: YANMAR 1GM10 Diesel, with fresh-water conversion. Six hours on rebuild. Uses about one quart of diesel per hour
FUEL TANK: Six gallons

TEFLON SHAFT SEAL, new

WATER: 30 gallons estimated

New cleats, new mast hardware as needed. The spars shine and Lafeil guarantees paint for 10 years.

New spreader bases, new spreaders, new masthead sheaves and tabernacle mast base, 2010.

Mast lighting: new anchor, steaming and deck lighting. New wiring from mast top to panel. (2010)

SAILS: Main with two reef points in serviceable condition.

Jib is 8.5 oz. Ullman, hank on, with one set of reef points. Crisp and sets nicely.
This sail is in above average condition with some light stains. Purchased used in June 2010 from Minney's.

ROLLER FURLING, we removed the mechanism and sail. These are included with boat purchase.
They are functional, although the sail is older.

WINCHES: Original to vessel.

ANCHORS: Danforth mounted on bowsprit, chain and line. Smaller Danforth with line can be set from the rear.

COCKPIT: Three lazarettes. Starboard is given over to propane tank. Center is for lines and fenders.
Port holds the diesel tank and fuel filter.
There is a 4-inch Ritchie compass mounted on the port companionway area. Older foam cockpit cushions.

BILGE: Guzzler 400 manual bilge pump with handle is near the bridgedeck.
Small Rule bilge pump is in the bilge (automatic).

THROUGH
HULLS: Ball valves

CANVAS: All exterior canvas is new. Sail cover, handrail covers, winch, compass and tiller.
Foresail bag is also new and designed to be left on deck when sail is set- or it can be taken off and stowed.

AUTOPILOT: Autohelm 1000 tiller autopilot.

TEAK: Exterior teak newly varnished. New wood tiller (2009) with fresh varnish.
