1979 37' Gulfstar aft cockpit on Lake Norman NC

37' Gulfstar sailboat, awesome cruiser - $19,900 (Lake Norman)
condition: fair size / dimensions: 37

This 1979 37' Gulfstar aft cockpit sailboat has been on Lake Norman her entire life. She is Coast Guard Documented. Roller furling headsail (needs some restitching), smaller jib, spinnaker, and mainsail all in usable condition. HUGE cabin, like a condo on the water!!

Wheel steering, nice stainless compass, huge cockpit for entertaining.

Lectra San electronic waste treatment, Adler Barbor refrigeration in ice box. Strong running Perkins 4-108 diesel engine. She needs some work, mostly on the interior and that is the reason for the low price. She can be (and is) sailed right now! Dock fees are paid until next June.

I just purchased an even bigger sailboat that is on the coast so momma says this one has to go FAST!!!! MY NEW BOAT IS GOING TO SAVE YOU SOME SERIOUS CASH!!!

Drop me a line for more details.

If you read the reviews read ALL the reviews and keep in mind that some people love to make general statements about things and NOT about specific things (boats in this case). The earlier and larger Gulfstars had a bad reputation but not the late 70's 37 footers!

Re: 1979 37' Gulfstar aft cockpit on Lake Norman NC

Is she still for sail ? And where is Lake Norman ? Please respond by email to skbiely@yahoo.com. Thanks, she is lovely. I previously had a 40' 1976 Ted Hood Gulfstar sloop and miss her dearly.

Re: 1979 37' Gulfstar aft cockpit on Lake Norman NC

She IS still for sale but I just purchased 6 new Beckson portlights and plan to install them when it warms up a bit (12 degrees out there this morning).

I will have to figure the cost of those ports and "stuff" needed to install them in the sales price. The ports were just shy of $1000.00 and I am going to replace the wood on the cabin sides with either new teak veneer plywood $$$$$ or an off white fiberglass laminate $. The laminate is winning because of the cost, the extra brightness it will add to the cabin, and the durability.

I would sell her as-is, include the new ports for $20,900. BEFORE I buy more "stuff" or install them. The price will adjust as the work progresses.

Thank you for your inquiry,

Garth
