27 Footer - Chicago - $900

I am not part of the deal in any way. Craigslist Chicago is where I saw the listing. I spoke to the gentleman, and he says the boat can be sailed or motored away using the atomic four engine. 6 sails with the boat.
He wants it gone before the first so he doesn't have new storage fees. Will load it or splash it for free.
He is now under 900$
If I thought I could handle bringing it down the Mississippi to the Alton pool from Lake Michigan alone, I would be buying it myself!
I have Zero hours on that type of boat.

It's a Newport! Pretty neat little boat - looks like some elbow grease is in order. I just came back from Chicago. Damn.

I posted it hoping that it would allow someone with little spending money that has been looking, to actually start sailing. I talked with the man at length yesterday. There is no reverse, and I am not ready to attempt bringing a 27 footer that far on the Mississippi with no experience on a boat that big.
I certainly hope posting the heads up here makes somebodies day!
Makes me want to pull my BIL's 50 off his boat and have him give me a ride! Be too much trying to rig controls, or I might actually consider it.

The boat was on Craigslist in the Chicago area listings. I don't know if it sold, or if the gentleman paid his storage for another year.
