275' of 5/8" Diameter, 8-Plait Line

Premium anchor line made by Bucaneer Rope in the U.S. 8 Plait collapses on itself and doesn't get stiff like 3 strand. You can store more of it in the anchor locker than 3 strand and it grips the gypsy well.
I'm selling it because its too big for my windlass. The windlass is rated for 5/8" line and it handles the line very well. The problem is the rope to chain splice is bigger the 5/8 and it has trouble with it. I've tried 3 different splices. They didn't say nothing about that.
Its been anchored on twice and is in excellent shape. It only has a slight tan mud stain on the part that was on the bottom. That happens the first time you use it.
It's marked with a fluorescent orange stripe every 50ft, one for each 50ft.
I want $210 for it, which is what it will cost me to replace it with 1/2" line. That works out to $0.76/ft which is a 23% discount from what I paid for it. Shipping wt is about 27lbs, from Houston, TX.
Can send a picture if you're real serious.

Why not just splice it to the chain? >>>>http://www.yalecordage.com/pdf/brait...ain_splice.pdf

Re: 275' of 5/8" Diameter, 8-Plait Line

You must not have read my post very well. I said that I tried 3 different splices. The one you linked to was the first one I tried. The problem is that the back spliced part is larger than 5/8" diameter which is what the windlass is rated for. It choked on it. The second one I tried involved weaving the line through the chain and tapering it out. It worked a little bit better but it still backed up when it had to make the 90 degree turn to go down the hawse hole. The last one was a hybird of the above two. I had a pro do this for me. He back spliced four strands and wove the other four strands down the chain. This worked the best but I still had to work it back and forth several times and go forward to get it down the hawse hole. So that is why I want to go to a smaller line.
If you have a solution, I'm all ears.
