I've actually been aboard your boat. I looked at her a few months ago. Back in July, I think. She was definately pretty. Seemed like a very good cruising boat. Have any luck selling her?

Re: 37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

Thanks Kevin, since then I've painted the interior, replaced the fixed portlights and their frames, painted the binnacle and a few other things -- we had decided on keeping her and heading back to the islands this winter until a few weeks ago when I found the right next boat

A guy flew out last weekend and made an offer and gave me a deposit check on the spot, so I think he's pretty serious....he still has to survey, etc. but I think she's probably sold

Congrats! Glad you found your next boat and got a buyer for Illusion. I ended up getting an Alberg 35 about a 2-3 weeks after looking at yours. What did you end up getting?

What made you go with the alberg over the Chris craft?

Re: 37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

The Alberg was about $11,000 cheaper and included the slip for a year. Since I'm not planning on cruising just yet, I didn't need a 100% cruise ready boat. That, and the Alberg has a Mermaid heat and a/c system on it (kind of a must in Charleston during the summer!)

Cool. Was not trying to hijack the thread, I was genuinely curious. I was in there market and made a purchase myself and I'm always curious regarding the reasons four one vs another especially since I was just playing the game.

Re: 37' Chris Craft Apache -- Needs to go!

No, I agree 100%. I looked at every thing from this one to a CAL 2-29, a Catalina 36, a C&C Sloop, the boat I bought and a few others. In the end, I just couldn't pass up the deal on this one. I mean, not having to pay slip rental for a year? Oh hell yeah I'm jumping on that.
