the boat was made in Michigan but has always been in North and South Carolina- i am the third owner

If it's been built well, you can have many many years of happy sailing in such a boat. There are many well known ones that sail the world.

I agree. I'd much rather sail a slow but sure concrete boat than a plastic bendy toe type. Please post specs. Ferris don't come around that often. I had a chance at one 4 years back, then a hurricane dashed her on the rocks as the bridle failed. Hard to feel confident about a repaired ferro hull...
