For Sale: 44' Islander

Islander 44, for sail. She was sold as a bare hull kit in 1970, and the owner spent 30 years building her in his back yard, in Gig harbor Wa. I bought her in 2006, and have thoroughly enjoyed sailing her, all over the Puget sound and San Juan Islands. She has a very unique sailing characteristic, of having 0, weather helm. Once settled into a tack, she will hold the bearing, like a dog on a bone. I'm selling her, because I am living in Hawaii, and I cannot justify keeping her any longer. She needs some work, but is ready to sail right now. The name on the stern is Dee Jer, but I call her crazy love!

The engine is a 50 hp. Perkins 4-108 Beam is 11' she draws 6' 5" Mast is 54'
Length overall is 44' The hull is in excellent shape, The cabin side looks blank, as I did not have time to reinstall the large windows, after replacing the cabin side. I re-glassed and epoxied, the entire cabin top edge, and painted with top side primer. She needs top side paint on the cabin. The teak decks are sound.
She needs an owner to love and care for he, and in return, you will have an excellent yacht capable of handling, off shore sailing or a cruise across the strait. I'm asking $15,000, and am wiling to accept a serious cash offer, the sooner the better. I can be reached at 808-747-5763, ask for Greg
