'88 Cal 39

We like our boat just fine. But in the long run want something a little different (who doesn't). So:

1988 Cal 39 (commissioned in 1990)
12'7" beam
wing keel - 5'4" draft
mid displacement - 245 DLR
solid handling and sails great (will point high), had a 100 PHRF rating at 1 time
"standard" type layout with a huge aft berth (larger than a queen bed)
electric rebuild head with a standup shower (head is aft, lot less rolling underway)
44 HP Yanmar with 1990 hours
38 gal alum fuel tank, 100 gal poly water tanks
bimini/dodger with sections for a full enclosure
mainsail fully battened with Doyle Stackpak
135% genny
spare cruising and racing main (has sails that I haven't figured out yet)
3/4 oz & 1.5 oz spinnakers with pole etc
dingy and outboard with divits
huge ice box with 12V AB frig
GPS chartplotter/radar/auotpilot
CQR, Delta and Fortess anchors
I keep finding so much available storage spaces it makes my head spin

I honestly feel this boat can go anywhere and with a few small upgrades (mainly a windlass) is a great long term cruiser. If if it doesn't sell I have no problems doing the small upgrades and sailing off in it.

$72,000 assuming no brokers that I have to pay commision to. Currently in the water in Salem MA and plan to dry store this year in Beverly. I have pictures if interested, PM me with your email.

Hi Don,

Looking for a 37-40 ft. to cruise the Carib in a few years but will be buying anytime. Am interested in the Cal 39 and would appreciate any photos / specs.
Thanks,
Greg

I also have a survey from this past April. Biggest item were CO2 and gas detector to be "current" with current boat requirements.

And to move it from page 5 back to a place to be seen.

I recently had a good back and forth with someone intertested. Reminded me of all the pluses the boat has, maybe I should just get over "boat lust" and keep my Cal.
