For Sale: A&B Bronze Manual Anchor Winch

A&B Bronze Horizontal manual windlass. Line capstan on one side and a chain wildcat on the other. 2 speed. Clutch brake/release. Installed 1989.
Used until 4 weeks ago. 35 kgs. Handle and 4 bronze bolts and nuts included. Will freight anywhere. This will take some time as I'll have to get timber crate made. You pay for $150.00AUD for my shipwright to make crate plus freight costs. A very rare piece. I have never seen another either on the internet or in the flesh. My yacht is 11 ton and 40ft LOA. Will suit a larger boat. Shoulder injury has necessitated an upgrade to electric. Very very reluctant sale. Some oil seepage evident port side winch handle point. Full service/rebuild 2010. Other than the oil leak, it's in perfect working condition. $2800 AUD. Will consider offers. Sydney Australia.

hello,
i have a similar windlass but i dont see any ab or abi markings on it. everything is in good condition but the two internal springs need replacing. can you tell me who reburbished yours.
thinking of either selling it or fixing it .

G'day Randy,

I got my local marine engineer (German craftsman) here in Sydney to strip it and refurbish it. I would have kept mine as I love it. Dodgy shoulder and a 6 month cruise have necessitated me to go electric.
