Autohelm 2S Linear Drive Electric Motor

Anyone have or know where I can get an electric motor for my Autohelm 2s linear drive. The permanent magnets came unglued and one cracked in half. I think it would probably work if epoxied in place with slight reduction in efficiency but do not know whish magnet goes where. Raymarine and Framco are no help.

Re: AOTOHELM 2S linear drive electric motor

The magnets are all the same, so it doesn't matter which is which. As for placement, they will be placed equidistant apart around the housing in the same area the armature resides. But you should probably be able to see where they were mounted simply by where the leftover epoxy and/or clean spots in the housing are.

Raymarine should sell you a new motor, but it will probably be expensive.

To Mark (colemj)
The magnets are permanent magnets as you can see on attachment they are a partial at tested with a small compass there are 2 north face and 2 south. My question is
Do the north face ones go on one side of the casing and the others opposite.
Thanks I know its been a long time getting back and I appreciate your input.
Cheers, Rob
