Avon RIB Hypalon Dinghy R3.41 (11' 2 1/4")

1997 Avon Fiberglass RIB model R3.41 RIB Melbourne, Florida
(3.41m = 11 ft 2.25 inches)
In very good condition and includes very nice Sunbrella chaps with marine vinyl at places where wear would be expected, like at rub rail and bow. Includes oars, pump, and lifting bridle.

Also has fold-down wheels on transom (they cost $80 alone)

Has new seat and new seat straps added in the last year.

Holds air great, needs just a little pump up in one chamber about once a week (you can fix with liquid sealant if you want). Yes, has some patches but I replaced all the old ones within the last year when I put in the new seat straps so they are all strong and will last a long time.

The blue book for the dinghy alone, without the chaps, is over $1000. Our price includes the chaps which would cost you hundreds to buy separately. Asking $1000 but entertaining reasonable offers now.

Rated for up to a 25hp engine. 15hp is a great choice for this dinghy.

Thumbs up Re: Avon RIB Hypalon Dinghy R3.41 (11' 2 1/4")

I would sure be happy to find a home for this dinghy. $900 would take it now! This is a great dinghy if you need a larger dinghy.

Re: Avon RIB Hypalon Dinghy R3.41 (11' 2 1/4")

Really great condition. The Hypalon is supple, not chalky, and uncrazed. Many many more years of good usage left in this dinghy especially when you consider the chaps further protect it. Shucks, even if you went to the extreme of re-tubing the unit (not that there is any need to at this point), you would still be thousands of dollars ahead compared to a new unit this size. The hull is probably worth more than $900 for goodness sakes.

These are great RIBs! I have a slightly newer version of this, made in 2001 so 14 years old already. Looking fairly scruffy but bulletproof -- never needs air except to compensate changes in temperature between winter and summer. The Hypalon they use for these is some kind of miracle material.

Where did you get the chaps? I need a set of those.

I made the chaps myself. Having sewn all of my canvas, this was not too difficult a project but not the one I would start with as a first project. It takes a lot of time to get the fitting just right.

Hello petedd,
How much would you charge to get it to fit just right?
