Owners Comments:
"Wings" was one of ten First 285's that Beneteau donated for the International Regatta held for the 1989 rededication of the Statue of Liberty. The Guest Book signed by the international crews that sailed her in the regatta is still on-board. Except for that brief few months, Wings has been in freshwater ever since. Wings is USCG Registered and has been maintained since 1993 by her second owner, a Professional Engineer. The hull and deck are in excellent condition and do not leak. The winches are original and have been serviced regularly. In 2013 we replaced the holding tank and connecting hoses and overhauled the toilet. 140% Genoa was new in 2007. New main & Jib halyards in 2010. Mast & Rigging checked in 2011 and the jib halyard blocks were replaced. Most of the Vinyl Ceiling has been replaced. This is an excellent boat for weekending in at the Lake. It has good ventilation with two opening deck hatches, an opening porthole in the Head, and three in the Aft Cabin. All portholes have insect screens. The seals for these ports were replaced in 2004. The engine has been serviced annually for filters and oil changes. The fuel lift pump had a routine overhaul in 2010. The anti-freeze was checked annually and changed at 3-year intervals.
