Hello all,

I have for sale my 1978 Cape Dory 28 sailboat. She is a strong, seaworthy boat in seaworthy condition. Her specifications are as follows:

Rig: Masthead Sloop
Length: 28 feetBeam: 8'11"
Draft: 4'0", long keel
Displacement: 9000lbs
Ballast: 3500lbs lead, encapsulated in keel

Electrical:
New lighted compass
Raymarine Autopilot
Depthsounder (works but needs replaced as display is hard to read)
Two batteries in proper battery boxes with selector switch
New LED running lights (the good 2nm ones from West Marine)
Steaming light (Nov 2012)
Masthead anchor light (Nov 2012)
VHF Antenna (Nov 2012)
Two 20W solar panels with charge regulator
Engine:~600hr Yanmar 2GM20 diesel (18hp) installed in Mar 2013
New propeller, shaft, and cutlass bearing installed with engine

Rigging:
External chainplates (OCT 2009)
5/16" oversized shrouds and stays (2004)
Halyards and sheets replaced Mar 2012

Hull:Sound fiberglass
Barrier coat
Trinidad black copper bottom paint (March 2013)

General:
Wood trim is in good shape and is oiled.
Oversized two-speed sheet winches
Halyard winches have built in cranks
Hardware installed to lead halyards aft (cam cleats and block arrays)

3 anchors:
Bruce with 80' chain as main, Danforth with 100' nylon and 12' chain as lunch hook, and a stern Danforth kedge anchor.

Interior is in good condition, Portlights are opening with bronze frames (with dogs) and glass panes.

She's a great sailboat for a sailor, will take you where you want to go and keep you secure in foul weather. Reason for selling is I bought a larger boat for extended cruising. The Cape Dory would get me there too but I needed more space for stuff.Feel free to contact me if you have questions.
