Carib C8 RIB Dinghy Plus Yamaha 9.9 in the Chesapeake

This is a used Carib C8 dinghy. Approx year 2002/2003. It is in good shape with no patches on tubes. Fiberglass hard bottom RIB. Specs from manufacturers site:
  • Length Over All: 8 Feet and 3 inches.
  • Beam: 5 Feet and 6 inches.
  • Max Load: 963 lbs
  • Dry Weight: 127 lbs
The fabric has some light rust stains and the bottom has some roughness from scarping growth off the bottom (see bottom close up pic).

2002/2003 Yamaha 9.9 2-cycle Outboard. When I received the engine the owner said there was less than 30 hours on it. I've probably put on about 10 or 15 hours. Runs very well.

Includes 6gal fuel tank and oars.

LOCATION: In the Chesapeake, currently Virginia.

$1,750

Some additional pics of the outboard as requested by fans. The white on the lower end is not corrosion. It is left over barnacle glue from where I scraped it.

Re: Carib C8 RIB Dinghy plus Yamaha 9.9 in the Chesapeake

We do mission work in Haiti and recently bought a 37 foot boat on the Chesapeake to take there. (You can read about our work in Haiti at www.justmercy.org.) We are looking for a dinghy and motor and ran across your post. Is this dinghy and motor still for sale? If so, please let us know. Do you think this dinghy and motor would work okay in the Caribbean? Thanks so much for letting us know.

Paul L, if still available, where/when may I see your dink? FYI, I am in Richmond, my boat is currently at Little Creek. I will be sailing up to Annapolis EOM.
