Catana 39S For Sale

I have a Catana 39S, sail away shape. My cruising plans have changed, I readied the boat for a two year cruise with my family, but since this is not their dream, so I am selling my Catana, I need to find a small go fast monohull that can be single handed. I have replaced / rebuilt many of the boat systems since my purchase, the twin Volvo 2002 are in good shape, always start right up, don't smoke, etc. New standing rigging in '06. Bottom paint in '07. The head(s) plumbing completely redone, including new holding tanks. All the propane hoses from the two new composite tanks to the new Magma bbq to the new three burner Princess range are new. The electrical all works, and the new led lights throughout work great. The interior / headliner is in excellent condition. Brand new 12v refrigeration system installed and working great. Brand new 45lb Delta anchor with 200 ft 3/8 bbb chain / 100 ft. 5/8 line, and an additional 45 lb. cqr type with 300 ft 3/4" line. Asymetrical spinnaker w/ new CDI continuous line furler on 5 ft. retractable bowsprit, symetrical spinnaker w/ sock, new halyards last year. Tramp is in excellent shape. Comes with an Avon hard bottom dinghy on davits with a functioning Yamaha 9.9 outboard. The boat is sound. I sail it most every weekend here in sunny So. Cal.

No, not really, I loved the boat, bought it to cruise for a few years with the family - wife and four kids, my dream since I was about six. Anyway it was not their dream, only one out the five enjoyed ( tolerated ) sailing, and this cat was just to much boat to daysail on the weekends. Looking for a smaller go-fast mono hull now, Soverel 33, Hobie 33, Olsen 30, etc. kind of like my old Peterson 33, but that is a conversation for another post.....

Sorry to hear this. In this case the old joke about buying and selling a boat does not hold true. I wish you the best in your search for a boat that everyone will be happy with.

Keep in mind some of the "fast is fun" type of boats designed by Bill Lee, Carl Schumacher, Jim Antrim, and Harry Melges.

Find a racing fleet in your area with one of those types of boats and it will be all that much more fun to own one.

Just to toot his horn for him, Bob Perry, one of this websites members, contributors and designer of the Valiant 40, has a service for people who are looking for that special boat. You might want to contact him for details.
