Want To Buy: Charts for East Coast of Australia

Can someone give me advice about how to go about getting some paper charts for the East Coast of Australia from Sydney to Townsville. I'm new to the forum so even basic advice will help.

NSW Maritime puts out maps and Maritime Safety Queensland put out charts which can be used. They are reasonably priced and may contain more information and may be more up to date than Australian Government charts.

You'd need to read the fine print as to whether or not they suit your intended use. I use the ones for round Sydney and they are good enough for me and I believe they satisfy the legal requirements for navigating in NSW coastal waters..

The NSW Maritime maps look to cover the NSW coast, while the Maritime Safety Queensland charts may not be as complete.

Thanks. I'll check out the NSW and Qld Maritime charts. I was thinking maybe some retired cruising sailor may want to sell Gov't charts second hand.

If you are still looking for Australian East coast charts, I may be able to help. I have a large assortment of unused paper charts covering most of Aus.

I have been selling them at $12 each in lots of 10 plus postage.
If fewer than 10 are needed that makes it more effort then its worth...
