FWIW, we ordered hull and deck with engine installed in 1973 and Westsail delivered the boat in Costa Mesa in early 1974. The hull number was 163. If someone really wanted the exact embossed hull # could probably row over and get it as the boat is still in Kona.

The 1980 date seems to be the year the boat was launched/completed, not when Westsail built the hull.
