generator

this is a DC generator , you can read about the advantages of these on The Fischer panda web site. Mine is the 4 KW system with automatic on /off controller, if your house batteries go below a preset limit the genset starts and does not shut off until batteries are fully charged.

I am replacing this because my boat will now be used for charter and the quest require air conditioning and 115 volts at all times so i must have a 115 Volt gerator,

Jeff

Fischer Panda

actually i have heard this as well, but now that i have onwed one i find that these unsubstaintiated rumors are unfounded. this one worked perfectly for 4 years and is still in excellent condition.

I will replace this 12 volt genset with a 115 volt one now that i have air conditioning onboard for chartering and i will use another Fishcer Panda . I find that while german engineering maybe too difficult for some to understand i find it superior. I would put my German car on the track agianst anything made in Japan.

THat said, i find that these better engineered products need proper maintenance which i find that very few boat owners actually do.

Where in Germany are these Kubotas built?

Well, you were comparing German vs Japanese engineering, I just wondered how this Kutota fit in there. I guess the Germans thought it was better than what they had domestically.
