Plastic has taken me where I have wanted to go for 29 years. I mean how close can you steer by compass in a small vessel? Close enough, so close enough is good also if you blow ur GPSsystems./ harry

You also failed to mention the size charts that are being used to cross the oceans of the world. It's like the old needle in a haystack trick. I flew in B-52 using a fairly accurate sextant (bubble type) in a relatively smooth platform and if I was within 3-5 miles of course, that was fine.
