For Sale: Four man offshore life raft

I have a three year old four man off sure Seasafe self righting life raft. Cost $2400 new. Just repacked at cost of $700.

Interested in sale or swop for six man raft.

$700 to repack? Wonder how long that takes. I've seen parachutes repacked in minutes. Though one of them didn't open. [fortunately not mine]

Just spent $1400 re packing a Viking 6 man. It's not so much the re packing that costs in any capable unit-it's all the replacement items like new flares, hydrostatic service on the bottle, new survival rations, etc..of course you could buy most of this at any marine supply house for perhaps a fraction of the price but then it would not be really certified. My Viking is 62 pounds and although is a coastal version includes many things not generally found in most manufactures. What type 4 man do you have that you are interested in trading. After seeing my 6 man inflated (a great opportunity to handle all the safety equipment when you don't need it) I don't know if I'd want much smaller even for a party of two.

I always read about a 2, 4, 6 man life raft. Do the girls get left behind on the sinking boat?? I don't think so. In fact the 6 person life raft would be just the right size for a party of two.

I talked to three or four life raft manufacturers before buying my 4 person life raft. Consensus was from each sales person that you want a smaller raft if only one or two,people will be on board, due to renaming heat and preventing hypothermia. Also personal preference, but weight and ability to move it around on deck is important to me. Hence I opted for a high quality offshore righting raft, but small size. So if one or two people boat, they rcommendd to me get a four person raft. If 4-6 person crew, go with six Pep raft. Remember folks, this is ocean survival equipment not a Florida sea view timeshare your taking on a passage. I figure the design is probably done that way with a purpose.
