I was thinking of Ballenger Spars out of California. He sometimes has used spars lying around. You may want to check with people in your area.

CS i spoke to ballenger spars in cal,he said he has done conversions on furling mast to track mast and the cost would be around 12 thousands plus it would strengthen the mast a lot, so that is a great compromise for me as money is tight.thanks for the tip, i think i will go with the conversion as the self furling mast is in good condition.
cheers johnnymac
