Re: ICom M700

I haver read here that M700 dont have any settings for power that is wrong it has three different 20 watt 60 watt and 150 watt number 14 in the manual page 6 look at the very right side

in the middle little knob. Hope this makes it easyer to sell for You. It is a nice little tranceiver old design but very strong built for big ships No chinese junk built in Japan by specialists

Yes, good radio and the transmit power-levels are definitely, and easily, adjustable.

Re: ICom M700

The M700 is a very good solid radio. The asking price is a bit steep, though. These generally go for $400-500 in very good condition.

The radio which doesn't have adjustable power is the M700Pro. It, too, otherwise is an excellent radio. Heaven only knows why Icom didn't include power reduction options.

We have an M700 that has proven very reliable, particularly since Bill helped me get a proper connection to our back-stay antenna a couple of years ago. One cannot use it for email but for straight comm's it's a very good radio and it's nice to be able to reach out and touch someone if the need arises when one is out of VHF Range.

FWIW...

Why would it not work for email? Just lack of a Pactor modem or something more fundamental?
