Anyone like "simple green" biodegradable soap?
Home Depot sells it at a good price by the gallon.
The gallon I bought the other day came with a handy spray bottle to dilute the detergent.

I'll be taking some sailing lessons this Spring. They have a non profit sailing school on site and the boat owner says he has some coming to him that he'll give to me.

Now I need to know what to pack to try and clean the outside of the boat. I'm guessing only elbow grease. Will any soaps do?
This is what I use almost exclusively:

I think it's ok for CA but I'd check with someone that lives there to be certain. If you want to get super busy and do some hard work I highly recommend this thread:

I have done this process and had excellent results. A lot of sweat equity involved.

There is a sewing group too if you have a machine that might have patterns for slip covers.

Congrats! Much better arrangement than owning one!

Ask around about the "Meadows". Lots of houseboats moor out there for part of the year.

+1 on the boat cleaner. I add just a dab of Dawn dish soap (yes I know it is petroleum based) as a surfactant.....great results.

I use it all the time. A little goes a long way. Have not heard anything negative about it yet.
