Skipmac, I have tried to send you a PM to find out how you would like payment, but for some reason the PM isn't working, If you can call me at 913-707-699zero, or email me at jjzidekataol.com I will make arangements so you get the money needed to buy one of your units. Thanks

Re: Katadyn Pur Survivor 35, 4 total

OK, looks like interest has spiked. Before I get too confused (very easy to do these days) and miss someone or end up with a garage full of watermakers (and a very annoyed wife) let me list the requests in the order they came in.

zenwood
Rocketman
Salus
Mrlee
SV Annastar
defjef
CrazyRU
Tomcat1
jmackay
Camoken

Did I miss anyone and everyone still onboard? Takes me about a week to get them in. Maybe give it another day or so before I order in case anyone else jumps in.

Will wait another day or so before ordering more in case anyone else wants to jump in.

Correct, these are the manual unit Survivor 35. See the photo in my first post. They are military surplus, unused survival gear. I got into this to get one for my ditch bag.

Link to Katadyn's web site with details and pictures.

Products - Katadyn Products Inc.

The manual 35 looks the same as the powered 40E but called Katadyn and they do not recommend trying to add the motor to make the 35 into a powered unit. Difference is the 40E has a SS body for mounting the motor to take the additional stress. If I was getting one as a regular watermaker I would go for the Powersurvivor 80E

Yes or you can order parts and rebuild kits cheaper from Defender Industries. Look at post #1 for full breakdown of costs.

How hard are these units to pump? I've heard they're "good exercise."

If, say, you wanted to spend a week or two longer in some dry spot than you can support with your onboard tanks, how hard would it be to squirt out a gallon or two a day?

Not very hard to actually pump a stroke, more a matter of how many times you have to pump it. My plan for the unit is for emergency water supply, if I lose or contaminate my main tanks or for the life raft.

I double checked the specs on this and might have gotten the units wrong. It is rated at 4.5 Liters/hour or 1.2 gallons/hour.
