Katadyn Pur Survivor 35, 4 total

I purchase a lot of 5 new in the box but old stock, government surplus PUR Survivor 35s to get a deal. Will keep one and pass on the rest at $245 each plus shipping. Will ship world wide if I can get it done.

I opened all the boxes to inspect the units and they all look brand new. No corrosion, scratches, dirt, mold, etc. I understand the membranes were properly pickled for storage but have not been repickled for some time, years perhaps. I think Katadyn suggests repickling annually but from what I have read the membranes are very possibly still good. However if not, here's the economics. All prices from Defender Industries without shipping.

1. New PUR 35 $2195
2. New membrane $380
3. Rebuild kit (gaskets, seals, etc) $130

So if you did have to replace the membrane and do a complete overhaul this would still save $1440 over a new unit.

I would test the unit and repickle the membrane before putting it in my ditch kit. If there is a lot of interest I can get another lot and again pass along the savings.

Re: Katadyn Pur Survivor 35, 4 total

Three already committed so only one left. Maybe I should have upped the price a little.

Seriously, if there is this much interest I can try to pick up another lot but since I already have mine would have five for the forum.

Have commitments for all 4 units. A couple of the buyers are traveling and I am holding theirs for a week or so until they're back. If either changes his mind on the deal will repost.

Will do. You're first on standby. Or if four more want to join in I'll pick up another lot of 5.

That's three. If I can get one more commitment I'll go ahead and pick up a lot of five and bet someone will take the last one.
