For Sale: Lewmar 42ST winches

A set - two winches for sale. Will separate but prefer to sell as a set. Asking $2000 for the set. $1500 each. They need serviced and I will do that for $50.

How old? Bronze, aluminum, chrome or black? Base diameter? Can you post a photo?

Black aluminum. 4.75 inches. Around 20 years. very lightly used boat was used as a condo. rarely sailed. make me a reasonable offer. Thanks for looking. I will post photos right now. Mike...

FYI...new Lewmar Evolution 45's from Defender are $1,064. Also, speaking from experience, the Wave Grip 42's are not supported by Lewmar any more. I called trying to get spare parts and they were not available. Best of luck.

I know that you can get parts through west marine.

If you can get them, I will pay you twice the price for two sets of jaws. I order from West Marine via their wholesale service, Port Supply, and I can not get them. Lewmar told me they have not had spares for the 42's for several years. You can get spares for the Ocean Series, but the Wave Grip Series are getting hard to service. This is especially true with the 42's as there does not appear that there was a large number of them manufactured.

Best of luck and if anybody has spares for these winches...I am in the market.

You're right. I have the chrome wave grips too and have found it impossible to find parts. You can get them on ebay for a few hundred, and I may buy a set just as spares.
