Looking for used perkins 4-108

Yesterday I posted that I was looking for a good used(takeout) Perkins 4-108,but I didn't say where I was located.I am in Charleston,S.C.If I can locate one out of state,shipping should not be a problem.Thanks,Vernon

I have a 4-107 sitting on the gorund that was running when removed, but needs a rebuild. Allot of hours. If you can use it, pay shipping, and it is yours. I do not know how many hours are on it, but no smoke, just hard start. It was an aux engine from a fishing boat.

You can reach them on the phone. They know as much about Perkins products as anyone. They will genrally buy any old perkins engine and specialize in rebuilds for applications that had a perkins. It can be handy since swapping out the engine is just one part and what about all the stuff connected to it. You can't connect all that to something different but some times you can connect most of it.

If you discuss what you have they may have the best way to get there. They are located in SE Virgina so it's not a hideous distance. If Marcus rebuilds an engine it as good as new gets. Even the girls that work the phone know more about engines than most of us.

I have a Pathfinder(VW) recently removed, doesn't burn oil, runs great, with gear and panel. Not sure how many hours. Buy most parts at import auto parts or VW dealer. Yours free come and get it. approx 50hp, 2lits/hr at 2,800rpms.

Ditto on TA Diesel. We have purchased parts several times from them and have always gotten great service and much better prices that our local Perkins distributer.

I seen you Ebay yesterday there was around 5 differant 4-108's starting at around $1,500 hope that helps. i also seen shipping is $300.
