Want To Buy: Mast for a 1979 Pearson 30

Any advice on sites where I would be ablet to purchase a used mast? We just bought a Pearson 30 with a snapped mast, we were told it could be welded back together as it was a clean break. Thoughts on that vs. finding a new mast?

I do know were there is used mast from unknow type of boat, biggest problem wood be getting it delieved

what dimensions are you looking for? You are unlikely to find a Pearson 30 specific mast so what you are really looking for is a mast of close dimensions which can be made to work and there should be plenty available,the problem is always the shipping cost if you cant scource one locally. I have a mast that may work, im not sure of the section but it is 44ft long and came off a Macgregor 36 catamaran. Im not too far away in Minnesota.PM me if interested.

Been doing some looking at spec. on a Pearson 30' and here is what i found

Displacement: 8,320 lbs
Ballast: 3,560 lbs
Hull Speed: 6.7
Sail Area: 444
Mast Height: 42.3 fts Note; this could be from water line. I took a measurement from my mast step to the water line and it was roughly 5.3 fts so that would make the mast around 36.9 fts and that real close to the add i show you early with his mast being 36' 11". Hope this help
